Report shows the Left wields power to attack Christian Americans, says Bauer

A conservative activist says last week's Department of Justice report on the Biden administration's anti-Christian bias offers a glimpse into the Left's ongoing war against the Christian majority.

As AFN recently reported, President Donald Trump set up a task for to eradicate anti-Christian bias and issued an executive order mandating a report that ultimately found that the Biden DOJ routinely and disproportionately targeted Christians for investigations and prosecution.

In the fall of 2021, for example, as parents began resisting rigid COVID-19 regulations in their kids' schools, they also found out that their children were being indoctrinated with radical left-wing ideologies.

Bauer, Gary Bauer

Gary Bauer of American Values says when the parents started showing up at school board meetings demanding that the indoctrination stop, the Left jumped into action.

"The National School Boards Association (NSBA), which is in the hands of the Left, cooperated with the Biden White House to label normal mothers and fathers as possible domestic terrorists," he remembers.

In September 2021, amid rising tensions over COVID-19 mandates and critical race theory, the NSBA sent a letter to then-President Joe Biden asking the federal government to investigate whether disruptions at school board meetings violated laws like the Patriot Act.

The next month, then-Attorney General Merrick Garland issued a memo directing the FBI and U.S. attorneys to work with local law enforcement to address "threats" against school administrators and board members.

The "Garland Memo," which outlined how to charge parents who spoke out at school board meetings with crimes, drew immense backlash from parents and lawmakers who argued it was intended to intimidate and criminalize parents exercising their First Amendment rights.

"It was disastrous for parental rights and for civil rights and religious rights, but it worked," Bauer says. "Many, many parents saw the stories, started getting worried they were going to be put on some sort of list, and in many ways, that parental revolt sort of petered out."

Investigations by House Republicans later revealed communications between the NSBA and the Biden administration prior to the letter's release, though the latter maintained that their directive was to stop violence and illegal threats, not at curbing peaceful parental dissent.

In that case, the NSBA retracted the letter and issued a formal apology, leading to widespread departures of state-level chapters from the national organization, but Bauer says the Left remains at war with the majority of the American people.

"When the Left gets power in Washington, D.C., behind 10,000 doors of the bureaucracy, orders are made, regulations are issued, memos are sent—all of which undermines and attacks Christian Americans," he warns.
