Syndicating content from AFN.net and American Family News

Thank you for your interest in sharing news from the American Family News (AFN) Network with your audience! Whether you are operating a website, print publication, radio station or some other type of audio or video production, AFN makes it easy to syndicate the news you see and hear at AFN.net.

Using AFN.net NewsTickers for your website

AFN provides a widget that you can use to easily insert AFN.net headlines into your site.

The primary benefit of using the AFN.net NewsTicker, rather than manually cutting and pasting headlines from our site to your, is that including news from a Christian perspective for your audience becomes automatic. You literally "set it and forget it." A secondary benefit is that -- if you use the AFN.net NewsTicker service -- you are released from the requirement to run button or banner advertising on your site in exchange for using our content.

Start by pasting the following code in the header section of your page.

    <script type="text/javascript" src="https://afn.net/scripts/syndication_widget.min.js></script>
<script type="text/javascript">
// client-side change variables
afn.num = 4;
afn.sections = ['business', 'church', 'culture',
'education', 'legal-courts', 'media', 'medical-health',
'missions', 'national-security', 'opinion',
'politics-govt', 'pro-life', 'science-tech', 'sports'];
afn.width = 400;
afn.show_date = true;
afn.show_category_title = true;
</script>

Place this div where you want the headlines to appear on your page.

    <div id="afn_news"></div>

Options:

  • afn.num is the number of stories you wish to display from each section of the news.
  • afn.sections is an array of sections in the order you wish the stories to appear. For example: ['church', 'missions'] would only display church and missions stories.
  • afn.width is the width of the afn_news id. This needs to be an integer.
  • afn.show_date turns on and off the publish date of the section.
  • afn.show_category_title turns on and off the title for each section, e.g. Church, Business, etc.
