Indiana infant latest rescue with a Save Haven box

More and more babies are being saved thanks to Safe Haven Baby Boxes, most recently in Indiana.

Monica Kelsey launched the organization called Safe Haven Baby Boxes to help rescue illegally abandoned babies from certain death. They are installed at fire stations, hospitals and other medical facilities that are staffed 24 hours a day.

Kelsey says 2023 was a good year for saving children.

“We're in 15 different states and we have doubled the number of infants that have been in our boxes this year from last year,” she says. “This year we've had 17 in our boxes, so Christ is really working through Safe Haven Baby Boxes to save the lives of these infants.”

On average, a baby is showing up in a Baby Box every 10 to 20 days in one of 189 boxes around the United States.

The latest incident happened in Beech Grove, Indiana, where an infant was left at an EMS Station. The box was installed in September, according to a story by Live Action.

All 50 U.S. states have a “safe haven” law but Kelsey says she often runs into legal liability issues that require those state laws to be changed.
