Notorious abortionist eyes Colorado city for new baby-killing center

Determined pro-lifers in blue-state Colorado are attempting to keep a notorious abortionist from opening up a baby-killing operation in their city.

The abortionist is Leroy Carhart, who performs late-term abortions and has a sordid history of harming patients during surgeries. He is even tied to at least two post-abortion fatalities. Back in his home state of Nebraska, he is currently under investigation by the Nebraska Department of Health after a 35-year-old woman was injured at his clinic in Bellevue.

And now Carhart wants to move to abortion-friendly Colorado.

Tamara Axworthy of Caring Pregnancy Center, located in Pueblo, tells AFN the abortionist’s plan to open a clinic there was discussed at a recent city council meeting. A church pastor, a local physician, and the founder of the pregnancy center took turns speaking against him.

“And they did a fantastic job,” she says.

During discussion among the city’s elected leaders, Axworthy says the city’s mayor suggested there is no legal way to keep Carhart from opening an abortion clinic within the city limits. But two other city council members disagreed and one of them has drafted an ordinance to keep him out of the city.

“Another council member said that we are a home-ruled city and as a home-ruled city we should be able to make our rules that are specific to Pueblo,” Axworthy advises. “And we'll see what happens with that one.”

Carhart, meanwhile, is remodeling a building in Pueblo to continue his gruesome practice.
