Texas State Sen. Angela Paxton (R) has filed for divorce after accusing her husband of adultery. However, The Texas Tribune reports she told the Texas Federation of Republican Women to vote for GOP candidates “even if we're mad.” She emphasized that it is not about the person, but the seat.
Angela Paxton supposedly told the gathering of Republican women regarding the November midterms: “If you can’t vote for a Republican.. vote against their Democrat opponent. Look higher. There is more at stake than one person. Get the entire R Team across the winning line.”
Ken Paxton is in a very challenging race against Democrat James Talarico, which could determine the control of the Senate during President Donald Trump's final two years in office.
This not the first time the Republican Party urged people to cast their votes toward them, despite any slight grievances.
In the first ever Republican midterm convention, both Trump and Vice President JD Vance tried to appeal to the voters, with Vance urging people to recognize the administrations achievement and Trump asking people to vote as if he were running.
Cathie Adams is a former chairman of the Republican Party of Texas, who serves as second vice president of Eagle Forum.
“I am so happy for Angela Paxton, that she has a heart that is bent in God's direction. She does not think only of herself. She thinks about her constituents and the constituents statewide in the state of Texas,” Adams says.
Texans, she states, simply cannot have Talarico in office for the next six years.
“That's what we're looking at. Either we have Ken Paxton's votes, or we have Talarico’s votes. We cannot, as Texans, move in the direction of Talarico,” Adams says. “Angela Paxton is a brave lady. I commend her for making this statement and I could not agree with her more.”
