National Rifle Association Institute for Legislative Action, or NRA-ILA, is the political arm of the famous gun-rights organization. It is planning a first-ever nationwide bus tour, beginning Sept. 3, that will make 63 stops in 13 states.
NRA spokesman Justin Davis told American Family News the midterm elections, now about 60 days away, are a “critical election” for gun owners.
“We have had massive progress over the last few years, and especially over the last few months,” he said. “But if we lose our pro-gun majority in Congress, and at state houses across the country, those wins can evaporate incredibly quickly.”
In many election headlines, Second Amendment rights are being dwarfed by affordability issues, such as the price of gas and groceries.
Citing its survey of registered voters, Fox News reported in July that 58% said the cost of living is their main concern, and 51% said their family income is worse than two years ago.
Davis warned that Second Amendment rights are important, too, especially if what he calls “progressive politicians” — meaning far-left Democrats — can flip Congress in November.
“They'll do anything to make sure they can strip you of your Second Amendment rights,” he warns.
DSA: Remove all guns from society
Another headline-grabbing midterm topic is the success of the Democratic Socialists of America and the Bolshevik-versus-Menshevik political fight happening within the Democratic Party.
The appearance of DSA-backed candidates in recent Democrat primaries has revealed radical Marxist ideology, from abolishing the U.S. Senate and letting Congress choose the U.S. president, to rent freezes and making public utilities free.
The same DSA platform also states that repealing the Second Amendment is the only way to “remove guns from society,” National Shooting Sports Foundation, another gun rights group, has reported.
The danger for an unarmed society is that DSA members, in their online group discussions, frequently describe using violence and inflicting pain for their “revolution” to succeed.
That call for violence comes after Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation says communism and its obedient followers have killed 100 million people worldwide.
Davis said the NRA tour is making stops in Georgia, Iowa, Michigan, Montana, Nebraska, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.
The first tour stop is a Labor Day event, Sept. 3, in Dillon, Montana. The tour concludes on Election Day.
