Will Harris' attack Trump strategy stick? Bauer takes cautious approach to poll watching

A conservative activist and former presidential candidate says the jury is still out as to whether the negative attack strategy that Kamala Harris is using to close out her campaign will win the White House.

If it is successful Americans will have elected the radically left ticket that any major American political party has ever advanced, says another conservative activist.

Much has been made during this 2024 presidential campaign about the cozy relationship Democrat vice-presidential candidate Tim Walz has had with Communist China. But with the election now less than a week the polls remain tight and voters could decide to elect Walz to the second highest office in the land.

Steven Mosher, who is president of the Population Research Institute, says Kamala Harris picked Walz because he is of like mind.

Mosher understands China, having spent many years there with his work as a human rights advocate.

"Kamala Harris picked Tim Walz because they have a common vision of America's dystopian future. They have a common vision of using the government to lock us down in individual cells, lock up their political opponents. Censor the media. Take X and Twitter out. I think they are people of like mind."

Marxist roots for the VP

Mosher says he was at Stanford University when there was a professor there named Donald Harris – the father of Kamala Harris.

"He was an open Marxist. So, she grew up as a red diaper baby. She grew up as the daughter of a Marxist father and a Marxist mother. She denied that she was an extreme socialist, and I would have to agree. She's not an extreme socialist. She's worse! She's a Marxist like her father and her mother were."

In a speech that was touted as an effort by Harris to bring the country together, the Vice President instead used the opportunity Tuesday evening in Washington to attack Trump calling him a "petty tyrant" and "wannabe dictator." Harris also used the venue of her speech, the Ellipse in front of the White House, to lay the blame on Trump for what happened on Jan. 6, 2021.

Trump accused Harris of closing with a message that doesn't address everyday Americans' day-to-day struggles and kitchen-table concerns. He said Harris keeps "talking about Hitler, and Nazis, because her record's horrible."

Gary Bauer is Chairman of the Campaign for Working Families.

"The strategy she is following is the exact same strategy that Joe Biden followed four years ago. They want that voter to be thinking, ‘oh my goodness, Donald Trump cannot be president for four more years. It'll destroy us.’ They want every voter to be only making a decision about Donald Trump, not a decision about Kamala Harris,” Bauer said.

Bauer says their goal is to criminalize everybody on the conservative side.

“That’s Christians, libertarians, economic conservatives, and anybody that dares to stand up for us and fight for us. It worked in 2020, and the jury is out about whether it will work again this year. I pray that it doesn't, but the polling is generally moving in the right direction. I just don't think any of us can jump to any conclusions."

Harris' easy running mate choice

Mosher says it is easy to see why Harris picked Walz as her running mate.

“This is the most radically left ticket that any major American political party has ever advanced. And I'm praying every day that the American people have the good sense to wake up in time and make sure they do not occupy the White House, because they might be there for a long, long time."
