"The Biden people think that abortion will help them get young, college-educated women," the chairman of the Campaign for Working Families tells AFN. "They think cheating the American taxpayer by erasing the student loan debt of college graduates is going to get them the youth vote. And they think that the pandering on race and calling every conservative idea 'racist' will get minorities to fall in line again and vote for the Left.
"I think there's a real chance none of those things will work," he emphasizes.
The longtime political observer sees the pendulum swinging away from the "woke" policies emanating from the Left.
"I think the 'issue battlefield' leans in the direction of [former President Donald] Trump and … populist conservatives. The thing we have to worry the most about are dirty tricks, which are already going on, [such as] further manipulation of voting [and] all the things we've all been worried about for a number of years.
"The Left," he says, "is showing every indication they will stop at nothing in order to prevent losing power."
Forget Haley – just press ahead
While the Democratic Party continues to push a woke agenda, a tea party leader in Ohio is advising the presumptive 2024 GOP presidential nominee to expand his base.
Now that Nikki Haley has dropped out of the Republican primary sweepstakes, some political observers are wondering if her supporters will now join the Donald Trump campaign. During her concession speech, Haley said it is up to Trump to "earn the votes" of those in the GOP who did not support him.
Tom Zawistowski, president of the tea party-affiliated We the People Convention, argues against conventional wisdom that the former president needs Haley's endorsement.
"The problem is the establishment wants us to think that Nikki Haley actually has any voters to bring to Trump. And that's just not true," he tells AFN. "The evidence is clear that people who voted for Nikki Haley are Democrats who voted for Biden [in 2020] – and they will vote for Biden again."
Instead, Zawistowski is urging Trump to focus on expanding his support among minorities by "trying to win over Hispanics and black Americans who are certainly upset with the Marxist agenda that's destroying them and enslaving them."
