Wisconsin's governor could be in hot water with voters over his handling of COVID funds.

When the federal government distributed COVID relief funds to the states to help bolster the economy and help businesses and non-profits stay afloat, state Senator André Jacque (R) says Governor Tony Evers (D) distributed grants meant for non-profits to fund abortion.

"It just is unconscionable and amazing that a quarter of the money set aside for non-profits in Wisconsin has gone to Planned Parenthood," Senator Jacque laments. "At a time when we're supposed to be focused on preserving life, [the money's] going to the organization that has as its focus taking life."

But the Democratic governor has complete discretion over how the money is distributed, and his sending tax dollars to the abortion conglomerate is not exactly surprising to Jacque.

"This is something that we've seen in a lot of different ways has gone to basically reward political backers of the governor," Jacque explains. "So this is no different from that; it just is one other way that basically millions of dollars are being used as a slush fund for political payback."

Governor Evers, whom Jacque describes as unpopular, will face oversight when he runs for reelection in the next state election.
