As AFN recently reported, Air Force General "CQ" Brown Jr. was one of the first to go in Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth's campaign to rid the military of leaders who support diversity and equity in the ranks.
Democrats claim it was a racial decision, but Trump is not the first president to replace top military officers with individuals who support his policies, and Bob Maginnis says Brown was simply "on the wrong side of the woke issue."
"I'm surprised Trump waited this long to get rid of him," he comments.
Maginnis is likewise unsurprised by the firings of the chief of Naval Operations, Admiral Lisa Franchetti, and vice chief of staff of the Air Force, General Jim Slife.

"They were on the wrong side of the issue, so the president's removing them," he summarizes. "I have no doubt there's another long list, and so we'll begin to see that reduction and then replacement of key leadership."
Trump has nominated retired Air Force Lieutenant General Dan Caine, who is currently with the CIA, to replace Brown as the next chairman of Joint Chiefs of Staff.
"Gen. Caine, he's been impressed with who happens to be the associate director for military affairs at the agency," Maginnis notes. "He will have a good handle on ongoing security issues and make the transition over to the Pentagon."
There have been rumors of a "list" of names Hegseth has circulated among congressional leaders of generals and admirals he plans to fire, but members and staff of the House and Senate Armed Services Committees have reportedly seen no such list.
"I'm sure everybody's looking over their shoulder," Maginnis concludes.
