Former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is warning about the consequences if the Biden administration moves forward with plans to re-broker the Iran nuclear deal that was abolished by President Trump. During a recent appearance on "Fox & Friends," Netanyahu said such a move would create a "nuclear powder keg" out of the Middle East:
What will happen is that other countries in the Middle East will pursue nuclear weapons of their own. So this deal, which is supposed to stop nuclear weapons in the Middle East and the proliferation of weapons of mass death in this neighborhood and beyond, it will actually cause the proliferation of nuclear weapons, and the Middle East will be crisscrossed by nuclear tripwires. It will make the Middle East a powder keg, a nuclear powder keg.
"As Netanyahu often does, he's sounding the warning," she said. "He's pleading with the world to come to their senses about this, starting with the Biden administration."
Markell explained that along with allowing the Iranians to have nuclear capability, they are going to get hundreds of billions of dollars in money as well.
"They're going to set the entire Middle East on edge, and many, many other Middle East nations are going to have to become nuclear," she warned.
Netanyahu has pledged that if he becomes Israel's prime minister again, then he will take whatever steps necessary to prevent Iran from getting the bomb.
