Pushing back on push for permanent abortion-by-mail pills

Democrats continue to push for abortion by mail despite troubling reports that women are being harmed in the name of privacy and convenience.

Citing the COVID-19 pandemic, the Food and Drug Administration implemented delivery of abortion drugs via mail but now liberal Democrats want the federal agency to make the policy permanent.

Dr. Michael New of the Charlotte Lozier Institute tells American Family News there are two important studies, one from California and a second from Finland, that prove the abortions are dangerous.

“That found that the complication rate for chemical abortions,” he says, “is four times higher than the complication rate for surgical abortions.”

That means that delivery by mail will only increase the risks.

An undiagnosed ectopic pregnancy, for example, could result in death via chemical abortions. The pills are dangerous if women use the chemicals beyond the 10-week gestation limit.

In Great Britain, after by-mail chemical abortions started in early 2020, emergency calls jumped 54% and ambulance calls jumped 19%.

Dr. New says that should be proof enough that the FDA needs to change its abortion-by-mail policy and require women to see a physician.
