Amid news outlet turnover, MSM members sharpening knives but aren't getting the memo

There are a bunch of moves by mainstream media hosts and reporters as the second Trump administration prepares to take over Washington.

Trump antagonist Yamiche Alcindor is headed to NBC at the same time former Meet the Press host Chuck Todd is leaving. Rashida Jones is out as the head of MSNBC. Rebecca Kutler is taking her place. Trump antagonist Jennifer Rubin is leaving the Washington Post.

Alcindor is excited to be part of the White House press corps again.

“I’m headed back to the White House beat for @NBCNews to cover the second Trump administration. It’s a true honor to be a journalist and I welcome all news tips and story ideas,” wrote Alcindor (shown above).

Others are less excited.

“Yamiche, what you do is propaganda, not journalism. It is shameful for your propaganda outlet to have access that would be better given to real journalists,” wrote Mollie Hemingway, a senior editor at The Federalist.

Charges of bias are not new for Alcindor, who regularly sparred with Trump during contentious public exchanges, Fox News reported.

Rubin (shown at right) is leaving The Post to start a new venture.

“I am here to announce I am leaving the Washington Post in order to co-found with Norm, an exciting new online platform: The Contrarian,” she said.

That would be Norm Eisen, the Former U.S. Ambassador to the Czech Republic. But while the venue has changed, the Trump Derangement Syndrome persists.

“We are going to bring you written material, podcasts, interviews, social media, all in defense of democracy. Our intent is to combat the authoritarian force that we all face,” Rubin said.

All of these moves are happening a week before Donald Trump 47 takes office.

Houck, Curtis (MRC) Houck

Curtis Houck of Media Research Center says the mainstream media is hoping to recapture the dark magic of the Trump 45 years.

But they’re misreading the room.

“All of these moves have to do with the fact that the liberal media are trying to rekindle, recapture the resistant sugar high that lasted for four years,” Houck said.

Not the same national mindset

He says it's not going to work, especially since the mood of the country has shifted dramatically toward Donald Trump since his first term.

“These attempts to be pro-democracy, this is standard aggrieved, white woman, boomer-cringe, variety hour that nobody's buying, except a very small group of people,” Houck said.
