Teenage girl claims sexual assault in wrestling match against biological male, files lawsuit

A lawsuit in Washington state challenges officials for letting boys into girls' sports.

According to the press release, Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) is representing 15-year-old female wrestler Kallie Keeler, who unknowingly competed against a young boy who claims to be a girl in a tournament last December. During the match, she says she was sexually assaulted and was informed only afterward that her opponent was a biological male. She was told by a coach of a different team.

Keeler and her mother, Stephanie Brown, are suing several Washington state officials because none informed them of the true gender of Keeler’s opponent, as per the school district’s policy.

After the match, the mother and daughter alerted coaches and the school of the assault, showing video evidence, but the district failed to report the incident to law enforcement in 48 hours as required by law. Officials didn’t inform the police until almost two months later and only after the story became public.

Dr. David Closson, director of the Center for Biblical Worldview at Family Research Council, made these comments on “Washington Watch.” He points out that there is video of the event.

Closson, David (FRC) Closson

"Actually, the wrestler's mother was filming, just there in support of her daughter and filming what's going on. There's a moment — it's really hard to watch — when the girl is being pinned and you can look at her facial expression. You can tell something is happening that shouldn't be happening,” says Closson. “According to the lawsuit, that's now been filed is that this biological male, who's identifying as a girl, actually sexually assaulted her in the middle of this match."

It's a great example, he said, of two worldviews clashing.

"As Christians, we believe that there is male and female. The gender ideology revolution says, ‘This is perfectly fine. There's nothing to see here,’” Closson explains.

According to him, that worldview dispenses with what everyone for all of recorded human history views as objective reality and markers of biological truth.

“When you dispense with that, you're left with situations where vulnerable people — in this place a 15-year-old girl — are abused," Closson states.
