As reported by Associated Press, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told world leaders that allegations of Israeli genocide in Gaza are not only false but "the biggest lie of the century."
Not only did Netanyahu vehemently deny the claim, but he also produced the receipts.
“What genocidal regime gives a million polio vaccinations to the enemy's population? What genocidal regime enables the distribution of two million tons of food into Gaza? That's a ton for every person,” Netanyahu said. “We sent millions of text messages warning civilians to leave combat areas. We made millions of phone calls. We dropped millions of leaflets.”
If anyone should be accused of committing genocide, Netanyahu points the finger at Hamas, who he says is deliberately sacrificing its own people.
“It will take time for the world to acknowledge what is so plain to see — that Hamas used Palestinian civilians as human shields, that it used hospitals, schools, mosques as terrorist command posts, that it stole much of the food we let into Gaza,” Netanyahu stated.
While Hamas did everything possible to keep Palestinian civilians in harm's way, often at gunpoint, he said that Israel did everything possible to get them out of harm's way.
The condemnation in his speech was forceful, calling out the pernicious lie that the world tries to hang around the necks of the Israeli Defense Force (IDF) and its allies. He also denounced the mass of delegates who walked out of the General Assembly as “moral cowards” when he took the podium to speak.
“To all those spreading these lies about my country and about our brave soldiers, whether they sit in this hall or in the office of the antisemitic mayor of New York, I say this — shame on you. Shame on you for inverting victim and aggressor. Shame on you for spitting in the face of truth,” Netanyahu said.
Zohran Mamdani
Netanyahu also managed to make it to the U.N. building in New York City without falling into the clutches of the city's mayor, who said he wanted to hand the Israeli leader over to the International Criminal Court.
Mamdani (shown right) was forced to admit that he had no power to detain the Israeli prime minister, but Netanyahu told the U.N. General Assembly Thursday that Jewish New Yorkers are feeling just as targeted.
“Since you were elected mayor of this city, many Jews no longer feel safe in New York. They talk to me. They tell me. This isn't the city we remember. It changed so quickly,” Netanyahu said. “In New York, Jews are threatened on the way to synagogue. Jews have been stabbed in the streets. Jews are demonized, targeted simply for being Jews.”
Netanyahu highlighted the link between Mamdani to his antisemitic comrades.
“You praise criminals convicted of supporting Hamas. You count as friends people like Hassan Piker, who said America deserved 9-11. Some friends you have,” Netanyahu continued.
Furthermore, he addressed the false charges Mamdani wanted him brought up on.
“You try to stop me from coming here. You try to silence me. Well, you can't silence me. You can't silence the truth, and here's the simple truth: Israel didn't commit genocide; Israel prevented genocide,” Netanyahu stated.
Mamdani in response continued the leftist genocide theme.
"Prime Minister Netanyahu used his speech to repeat baseless lies meant to sanitize his genocide of Palestinians."
Then without addressing the specific claims made by Netanyahu in the speech, Mamdani went back to his original complaint against the Israeli leader.
"No lie can change the fact that he remains the subject of an International Criminal Court arrest warrant alleging war crimes and crimes against humanity," the mayor said.
Gary Bauer, president of American Values and a founding board member of Christians United for Israel, tips his hat to the prime minister for confronting the mayor.
“Mamdani is an antisemite. There is no question about it. He plays a few word games, but he's part of this alliance of socialists, Marxists and Islamists that are threatening all of the West and Judeo-Christian civilization,” Bauer says. “Mamdani threw down the gauntlet.”
Bauer admires Netanyahu's boldness in making it clear that the eternity of Israel will not falter.
Qatar and Turkey
While facing down representatives from several hostile countries, Netanyahu told them Israel was winning a seven-front war against aggressive countries and terror groups. He then named an eighth front — the war for truth.
“It is waged in the world's media and, most perniciously, in social media. Several foreign countries have spent untold billions to spread lies about my country. The first to do so was Qatar,” Netanyahu stated.
The Persian Gulf country, that gifted President Donald Trump a new Air Force One, often bills itself as neutral in the Arab/Israeli conflict. However, Netanyahu said they give lavish shelter to Hamas leaders and stoke antisemitism on American college campuses.
“Decades ago, it started massively funding American universities and toxic media outlets like Al Jazeera. And their goal was clear: brainwash young minds to hate Israel, hate America, hate the West,” Netanyahu said.
Then, he called out Turkey and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
“The latest country to become a super-spreader of antisemitic lies is Turkey. Erdoğan is a tyrant. He also hosts the Hamas terror chiefs,” Netanyahu stated.
Erdoğan, he said, has designs on the City of David.
“He calls for Israel's destruction almost every single day. He says he's going to be the ruler of Jerusalem. No, sir. You won't. This is our country, our city, our eternal capital,” Netanyahu said.
