Gary Humble, executive director of Tennessee Stands, says the "wonderful" House Bill 1270 is now law, which means people cannot be punished for regarding reality.

"It's an effort that Tennessee has been working on for a couple years now … to get not only teachers coverage in terms of not having to answer to … things that don't exist in reality or having to accept someone else's reality, but also working to get some of these progressive agendas out of our schools," he relays.
Considering only one-third of third graders in the state can read at grade level, Humble says, "We need to focus on academics and not radical ideologies."
He is glad that educators are now protected and that the state is taking the correct steps to refocus.
As AFN recently reported, Governor Bill Lee (R) signed HB 1270 into law earlier this month.
