The female student, whose name has not been disclosed, attends Montgomery County Public Schools where she is an active high school senior and a “Star Student” with a 4.76 GPA. She will not graduate in May, however, because her school record does not include a controversial sophomore class called “Family Life and Human Sexuality.”
According to Fox News, which interviewed the teen’s parents, what is supposed to a MCPS health class is more like a Marxist struggle session. It includes topics on recognizing white supremacy; using inclusive language for LGBTQ people; discussion of privileged people versus oppressed people; and a lesson on studying healthy inequity for “trans” people and people without a religious faith.
The parents, who objected to the course’s anti-religious themes, told Fox News they were not allowed to view the lesson plans but obtained screenshots of the materials anyway.
The parents’ fight, which now dates back two years, mirrors the moral and legal fight parents are waging against the same school district that went before the U.S. Supreme Court last week. In the case Mahmoud v Taylor, a majority of the nine justices are expected to side with parents and their religious objections to MCPS influencing their elementary-age children with LGBT-themed children’s books (pictured above) during classroom instruction.
Like the high school senior and her parents, the parents are demanding an “opt-out” option but are being ignored and even vilified by liberal school officials.
While the religious rights of Montgomery County’s elementary-age students are being decided at the U.S. Supreme Court, the parents of the high school senior have asked the Maryland Supreme Court to hear their time-sensitive case that is currently before an appellate court.
Jeffrey Trimbath, president of Maryland Family Institute, tells AFN that Montgomery County Public Schools “loves radical gender ideology more than it loves students.”
In the case of the high school senior, Trimbath says the school district is choosing “radical gender ideology purity” over a high school senior.

The school district once allowed an “opt-out” option many years ago, and has not always been so militant about its ideology, he says. Since then, however, the “radical gender theorists” took over and demand complete adherence to their ideology, he says.
Montgomery County, Maryland is home to approximately 1 million citizens in the western portion of the state. It is located north of Washington, D.C. and is part of the capital city's metropolitan area.
Montgomery County chose Kamala Harris over Donald Trump 74% to 21% last November.
