Faux holidays another attempt to infiltrate schools

A writer for a ministry dedicated to upholding and re-affirming marriage, family, life, and liberty doesn't think educators will celebrate GLSEN's slew of new made-up holidays.

The Gay, Lesbian, Straight Education Network (GLSEN) is suggesting that 20 different celebrations of deviant sexual behavior be added to the already crowded "2022-2023 School Year Calendar."

Breitbart News reports that among the faux holidays is "Bisexual Awareness Week" from September 16th to the 23rd, with the 23rd itself supposedly being "Celebrate Bisexuality Day."

GLSEN also wants schools to celebrate "LGBTQ History Month" in October, as well as "National Coming Out Day" on October 11th and "International Pronouns Day" on October 21st. Additionally, there is "Asexual Awareness Week" from the 23rd to the 30th and "Intersex Awareness Day" on the 26th.

Laurie Higgins of the Illinois Family Institute believes most teachers, even those on the Left, will object.

"That's not what public schools are about," she submits. "I don't know when exactly public schools decided that they were going to become hotbeds of activism instead of [places] to learn a foreign language, to learn literature, to learn grammar, to learn mathematics, [or] to learn science."

Higgins, a former public school teacher, adds that GLSEN has no regard for conservative kids, whose beliefs are deemed "transphobic" and "homophobic."

"Their goal is to make them so uncomfortable and so ashamed of their own views and the views of their own parents that they will reject them and join the dark side," she asserts.

Breitbart's Spencer Lindquist submits that "GLSEN's attempt to get schools to celebrate politically motivated faux holidays is just one of the many ways they advance gender ideology and queer theory in the education system."
