An author and cultural analyst says a North Carolina preschool teacher was right to resign after it was revealed she was using a flashcard that depicted a "pregnant man" when teaching students about colors.

Ballentine Elementary School Principal Lutashia Dove reportedly found and took possession of the inappropriate flashcards in the unnamed teacher's classroom.

"This is certainly using LGBT themes to teach colors and to teach preschoolers, is definitely an indoctrination technique," comments Christian commentator and former teacher Janice Crouse. "It is not a teaching technique."

Republican State Representative Erin Paré received an email from a concerned parent about the unidentified teacher's use of the flashcards. Crouse agrees that they are age-inappropriate.

"There's a science to age appropriateness," she submits. "All of this that's being foisted onto our children about gender identity does not conform to age appropriateness."

Wake County Public Schools told ABC 11 the flashcards were not approved for the curriculum.
