An upcoming rally hopes to make it clear to those who might not agree: government is NOT a co-parent.

Organized by Independent Women's Network, the "Government is NOT a Co-Parent Rally" next week involves parents, grandparents, and caregivers from across Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia who are fed up with government-run schools indoctrinating kids with woke curricula like critical race theory, graphic sexual content, and progressive ideology.

Gunlock, Julie (IWF) Gunlock

"Parents have had enough," says Julie Gunlock, director of Independent Women's Network. "We have been home – as [political commentator] Mary Katherine Ham put it – 'Zoom-butlering' our children for the better part of two years – and do we get any recognition? No! We've been treated terribly."

Confirmed speakers for Tuesday's rally include Representatives Chip Roy (R-Texas) and Vicky Hartzler (R-Missouri), Nicki Neily and Asra Nomani of Parents Defending Education, conservative columnist and commentator Bethany Mandel, and Terry Schilling of American Principles Project.

"If parents do not stand up right now, it will get worse," Gunlock warns. "It's absolutely horrible how parents have been treated in this country – not only by school officials, but by school board members, by teachers. And again, we're fed up and we're going up to Capitol Hill and we're going to tell our representatives a little bit about it."
