An organization that works to end government union corruption is helping teachers who disagree with how their union dues are spent.

The Freedom Foundation recently received a letter from a teacher in Ohio who was astonished to learn that part of the dues she pays into her union goes to support Planned Parenthood and NARAL, two huge abortion-supporting groups.

"They do accept union dues from teachers unions, which, people who give their lives to teach children, we have found, are horrified to find out that their paychecks go to support these initiatives that they don't support," relays Freedom Foundation spokeswoman Ashley Varner.

So her organization receives communications from teachers wanting to know how they can stop funding organizations like Planned Parenthood, which commits about 40% of the nation's abortions.

"We help them leave their teachers unions, stop funding the union dues with their paychecks, and really just stop and get out of the politics that they don't support."

The U.S. Supreme Court ruled in 2018 that forcing public sector employees to fund a union as a requirement of their employment violates the First Amendment.
