Hasan Piker, who has been referred to by media outlets as a Rush Limbaugh of the Left, has become very influential in the Democrat Party, especially now as a midterm surrogate.
According to Politico, his hateful rhetoric has actually drawn significant backlash and debate even within the Democrat Party. For example, the Twitchy streamer with millions of followers recently doubled down on the horrific comments he made regarding Hamas, claiming it is "a thousand times better than Israel."
Piker is set to campaign with Abdul El-Sayed, a candidate for senator in Michigan. Elsayed’s Democrat opponents, state Sen. Mallory McMorrow and Rep. Haley Stevens, have spoken against his choice of campaign partner, saying Piker only says outrages things to generate views and followers and that El-Sayed will not win because of Piker.
Meanwhile, others like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Bernie Sanders, and Zohran Mamdani have embraced him.
Robert Knight is a columnist for the Washington Times.
"Hasan Piker, who considers himself a cultural Muslim, was born in Turkey, raised Muslim, says he's not a practicing Muslim now, but he's a cultural Muslim. He says that America deserved 9-11 and that the fall of the Soviet Union was the greatest catastrophe of the 20th century,” says Knight. “He's completely antisemitic, and he's been embraced by New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani, who's a communist Islamist."
According to the Daily Caller, Piker regrets the U.S. defeat of the Soviet Union, claiming that it is the successes leading to the U.S.’s demise and that only disaster after disaster has followed since.
Piker, who is Turkish American, also claims on a livestream from China that he is now “full Chinese” after being Chinese in heart, soul, mind, and conscience.
At some point, he says Americans need to figure out who the enemy is.
"The enemy can be outside, and it can be within. I think we have a growing number of people who should be classified as enemies, who hate America, hate our election system, hate our freedoms, and want to overthrow the country,” states Knight. “Why we permit them to be here is beyond me."
