The House Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution and Limited Government's recent hearing was called "Sharia-Free America: Why Political Islam & Sharia Law Are Incompatible with the U.S. Constitution." The hearing covered efforts to establish Sharia law-based legal and civic institutions, how these alternative institutions are contrary to America's founding principles, and how they may violate federal law and the Constitution.
AFN reported previously that Texas Representatives Chip Roy (feaured right) and Keith Self founded the Sharia-Free America Caucus in December 2025. The caucus, with over 30 members representing 18 states, advocates for the Preserving a Sharia-Free America Act, also introduced by Roy. The bill would “bar all foreign nationals who practice Sharia from entering or staying in the United States.”
Krista Schild is the Texas director for the RAIR Foundation USA (Rise Align Ignite Reclaim). The organization stood before Congress to speak up regarding this issue. In testimony at the hearing, Schild said that the world changed after 9/11.
"I travel across Texas listening to communities. Residents tell me their neighborhoods are becoming unrecognizable. Streets once familiar now echo with foreign calls to prayer that drown out church bells,” said Schild.
She speaks more on the effect on the people.
“Sons who fought these very forces abroad returned to find their hometown starting to resemble the Middle East that they risked their lives to defend the U.S. against. Texas is Ground Zero for the Islamic conquest of America," said Schild.
Schild spoke with AFN about her testimony.
"Chip Roy put this this hearing together so that we could submit evidence to the congressional record and have a hearing where we could give testimony on why Sharia is incompatible with our Constitution,” states Schild. “Because the argument has been that we cannot violate Islam or Muslims First Amendment rights to religion. It's cloaked under religion, but it's truly a political ideology that historically — over 1400 years and 35 years here in Texas — has been expanding."
She said that Muslim Student Association (MSA) groups are affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood and have infiltrated U.S. colleges and universities over the years. She said that the organizations operate as a political arm and are used for public relations. Furthermore, they are not used to educate people but to expand Islam.
