'Dragon Eye' nabs traffickers, rescues children, in Florida

A law enforcement sting in Florida nabbed child traffickers and rescued dozens of children from their captors.

Led by the U.S. Marshals Office, “Operation Dragon Eye” was carried out by 20 agencies working together to rescue 60 children. Authorities also made eight arrests for trafficking, drug possession, and child endangerment.

Authorities said the children, many of them reported missing, range in ages from 9 to 17.

Many of the children were considered “critically missing” by the Marshals which means children at risk of sexual exploitation, exposure to crimes, and domestic violence.

Speaking at a press conference, Attorney General James Uthmeier (R-Florida) said “Operation Dragon Eye” represented the biggest children rescue operation in U.S. history.

"This is what it's all about. This is why we do the job," said Uthmeier. "I've got three little kids and I've made clear protecting our kids, and keeping Florida the safest state to raise a family, is our number one priority."

Ellis, Jenna Ellis

Jenna Ellis, an AFR radio host and legal analyst, lives in Florida.

"They just do what is right," Ellis told the "Today's Issues" program. "When you have good leadership who knows the difference between right and wrong, good and evil, they step up and use their power to actually effectively help people.”

Ellis cited a Bible verse from the Book of Proverbs, Proverbs 29:2, that states good leaders make people “rejoice” but evil leaders make them groan.
