LEGO urged to let go of 'pride' push aimed at children

LEGO is being slammed after it released LGBT-themed toys, with characters including furries and drag queens.

LEGO joined June's so-called "pride" celebrations by promoting the toys in an Instagram video that read "Happy Pride," according to news website Resist the Mainstream.

“These dazzling minifigures are ready for Pride with their very own spectacular Pride celebration!” the video states.

The ad shows animated LEGO characters, including drag queens, furries, and more assembling for an apparent party as music plays.

Arthur Schaper, field director for Mass Resistance, tells AFN it is true LEGO says it markets those toys for an adult audience but the company is crossing a line.

“Legos are inherently designed for children,” he says. “This is about marketing towards children. This is about grooming children.”

According to the Resist story, LEGO introduced a "pride" float last month that featured drag queens holding rainbow flags.
