Pennsylvania's only full-time non-profit organization representing family values in the state capitol has uncovered how much the state is spending on transgender treatments for minors.

Pennsylvania Family Institute spokesman Dan Bartkowiack explains that as Governor Tom Wolf's (D) two terms are ending, his organization decided to look into how much the state has been spending on gender-confused youth.

"Since Gov. Wolf has taken office, we have seen over $16 million spent on sex reassignment services, puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, [and] surgeries that are done on children 18 and under," Bartkowiack reports.

He finds the increase in spending over the same period to be equally alarming.

"In 2015, the total spending was $78,000," Bartkowiack notes. "This past year in 2021, [it] was nearly $4 million. That's a rise of like 5,000%. And sadly, we're seeing this year it's going to surpass that number."

The communications director points out that those are Pennsylvania tax dollars, not federal Medicaid funds.

With elections coming up, Bartkowiack says Pennsylvanians and citizens of other states need to raise this issue with candidates and then vote accordingly in an effort to end the practice, especially of child mutilation surgeries.

Gov. Wolf has also vetoed every pro-life bill approved by the state legislature.
