Parents will soon be gathering in Tampa, Florida for a national conference.

Tiffany Justice is co-founder of Moms for Liberty, the 501(c)(4) nonprofit organization that is hosting the event. She says their mission is to unify, educate, and empower parents to defend their parental rights at all levels of government.

"This summit, the Joyful Warriors Summit in Tampa July 14th through 17th, is meant to build the tools in the toolbox for the parents so they can go back to their own communities and they can make the change happen that they know they need to see," Justice tells American Family News.

The lineup of speakers includes Florida First Lady Casey DeSantis, former HHS Secretary Dr. Ben Carson, conservative commentator Allie Beth Stuckey, and former Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos.

Though this is the first year for the summit, many are already well aware of Moms for Liberty.

"At the end of 2021, one of our members let us know that the FBI had been in contact with her," Justice reports. "Now we know that she is not alone in that, but, in fact, dozens of parents across the country have been targeted by the Department of Justice."

The Department of Justice announced last fall that it would be mobilizing the FBI to work with state and local law enforcement to address what Attorney General Merrick Garland called "violence and threats of violence" against school administrators, teachers, and staff.

Justice says the parents were merely voicing concerns about their children's education, "or lack thereof," as kids were locked out of schools or quarantined even when they were healthy.

"We believe it is really a crime against children to steal their education from them," Justice concludes.
