Christian leaders continue hammering call to vote

Christian leaders continue hammering call to vote

With the midterm elections just days away, conservative faith leaders are urging Christian voters to make their voices heard at the ballot box.

Election Day is Tuesday, November 3.

AFN has reported repeatedly on the topic of Christians and voting. Dr. Willy Rice, president of the Southern Baptist Convention, is urging pastors to get involved in the political process, stating that "there are many political issues that are, at their heart, theological issues and moral issues."

Faith leaders such as Dr. Alex McFarland and Dr. Ray Pritchard echo the sentiment and urge followers of Christ to be "salt and light" and actually "vote like evangelical Christians."

Meanwhile, Concerned Women for America (CWA) is wrapping up its nationwide outreach effort, urging conservative Christian women to step up their turnout this election season.

Nance, Penny (Concerned Women for America) Nance

Penny Nance, president and CEO of CWA, appeared on American Family Radio (AFR)'s "Jenna Ellis in the Morning" program during the final leg of the "She Prays, She Votes" bus tour.

Nance revealed the effort has made over 10 million voter contacts, pointing out the massive impact Christian voters can have if they show up.

"About 40 million Christians do not vote. And for some reason they feel content in their pew, like it doesn't touch them... and nothing can be further from the truth. We get the government that we support and that we vote for," Nance states.

Nance stressed that economic issues like inflation, and state constitutional referendums on abortion, are central concerns for women. She also shared encouraging observations from college campuses regarding young conservative women.

"They're completely annoyed by the fake narrative that women want abortion. They're part of that 50% of women who are pro-life," Nance says.

Pavone, Fr. Frank (Priests for Life) Pavone

Frank Pavone, founder of Priests for Life, also joined the AFR program to highlight new resources available at ProLifeVote.com, including a downloadable comparison flyer contrasting conservative achievements against opposing platform agendas.

Pavone emphasized that turnout and clear contrast are key.

"This contrast is not between what promises of one, promises of the other. It's a record of actual achievements on the one hand, and then the plan of the other side to destroy them or to stop the progress," Pavone states.

President Trump is not on the ballot this coming Tuesday, but he's been traveling the country and asking voters to pretend that he is on the ballot, because his agenda — including pro-life policies – are at risk if Democrats win the House and Senate.

Democrats are pounding Trump and Republicans with TV political ads stating they deserve to lose power next week over the Iran war and affordability.

Pavone disagrees.

"You should be proud to be standing with the most pro-life, the most pro-religious freedom, the most pro-family, the most pro-parental rights president that we've ever had," Pavone says.
