Stuart Knechtle is described as a popular pro-MAGA pastor. But he is facing a backlash after he made a private conversation with President Donald Trump's son, Barron Trump, public.
During a podcast Knechtle expressed an opinion regarding the 19-year-old's faith.
“He's very close to putting his faith in Christ. Very close."
White House insiders reveal that First Lady Melania Trump is furious about the disclosure and is considering whether to take further action regarding Knechtle's comments.
Gary Bauer is Chairman of The Campaign for Working Families.
"Maybe I'm behind the times. I have not heard of the guy. Apparently, he has a tremendous following. What he doesn't appear to have is much of an IQ."
Knechtle, an assistant pastor at Grace Community Church in his hometown of New Canaan, Connecticut, oversees small groups and young family ministries, preaches and is a certified Christian counselor.
He’s also a popular social media influencer. Knechtle has 2.4 million followers on TikTok and almost a million more on YouTube.
Bauer says there is nothing good accomplished by sharing a private faith conversation with the general public.
"This is between Baron Trump and Jesus Christ, and if the pastor had been blessed to have a role there, he should have kept his mouth shut. I just think it's outrageous. I think he ought to apologize, and I don't blame the first lady at all."
