Dr. Alex McFarland called on voters to support ballot measures aimed at safeguarding women’s sports and parental rights in public education.
Speaking on American Family Radio and its “Today’s Issues” program, McFarland highlighted the impact gender fluidity policies are having on female athletes in local high schools. He noted that abandoning foundational realities threatens both fair competition and basic safety for students.
“One example in the state of Colorado… a female was thrown off the team and replaced by a below-average boy who identified as a girl,” McFarland states.
That case was reported by Fox News, where eight girls in all were cut from the roster of Dakota High School’s junior varsity team. But a transgender girl - meaning a boy - was allowed to participate.
That incident has sparked outrage among parents of the female athletes, demanding answers from Jeffco Public Schools. They explained how devastated their daughters are to be cut and miss this season, especially for those who have played on the team previously or who have trained hard to join.
AFN reported last year on how high school volleyball teams in California forfeited games against Jurupa Valley High because the school has a biological male, AB Hernandez, on their team. Hernandez (pictured at right) stirred up controversy for winning two state titles in female track and field competitions.
More recently, AFN reported on a cross-country girls' team in Washington. A male runner, Logan Mihailoff, finished second out of 195 females runners at the Oct. 2 cross-country race in Camas, Washington.
McFarland also spoke on the unnecessary push to have biological men in women’s spaces.
“The idea that boys don’t need to be in girls’ bathrooms, that’s not religion. That’s common sense. It is time we make some big, grown-up, mature adult decisions here and have moral courage,” McFarland says.
The Trump administration has launched multiple Title IX investigations and lawsuits against schools in several states for allowing men in women’s spaces.
For example, Fox News reported on a lawsuit directed to one school district in Michigan for allowing student athletes use the opposite gender’s locker room, and another in North Carolina for “forcing” female students to share their restroom with biological men.
