As males have been dominating in women's sports across the country, the Biden administration had planned to keep states from banning men from competing with and against females.
Those plans, however, were terminated last week.
Dr. Zachary Marschall, editor in chief of Campus Reform, tells AFN, "It was part of the Friday news dump that seems to still be hidden in mainstream media."
"This is a complete defeat for the Left and a complete victory for those of us who believe in biological reality," he summarizes. "I think the stories we've been covering at Campus Reform, [like] the student who was critically injured by the male volleyball player – those are all fueling public sentiment."
A main concern for female athletes has been the safety risk that males' inherent physical advantages over them pose. Another major concern has been girls being forced to share locker rooms and showers with boys.
In its statement about the decision to withdraw Biden's proposed rules, the Education Department "recognizes that there are multiple pending lawsuits related to the application of Title IX in the context of gender identity, including lawsuits related to Title IX's application to athletic eligibility criteria in a variety of factual contexts."
The department concludes by saying it is withdrawing the Athletics NPRM and terminating the rulemaking proceeding.
"I think it's undeniable now that the Left does not reflect the mood of the country or where the country is morally and philosophically on this issue," Marschall comments. "I think it's appropriate and a good thing that the Biden administration threw out the proposed transgender changes."
The administration's rewrite of Title IX changed the category of "sex" to "gender identity" in the federal law that promises equal rights for women.
