Election coverage will begin at 6:00 p.m. Central (7:00 Eastern) as AFN and AFR focus their attention on a presidential election that many have described as perhaps the most critical in the history of the nation.
But other important races are taking place as well. For example, one-third of the U.S. Senate is up for election, as are all 435 seats in the U.S. House of Representatives. Democrats currently hold a slim majority in the Senate and Republicans in the House – but majority status in both chambers appears to be up for grabs this cycle.
In addition, 10 states have ballot measures that would add constitutional protections for abortion "rights." And scattered across the country are initiatives related to important issues dealing with school choice, minimum wage, and legalization of marijuana.
Specifically, at AFN.net on Election Night, readers will find:
- An electoral map of the country, reflecting the current "Race to 270" between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump
- A focus on 7 Senate races pollsters deemed critical in determining which political party will be the majority over the next two years
- The pass/fail status of abortion-related measures on the ballot in 10 states
- The pass/fail status of state initiatives on school choice, minimum wage, and legalization of marijuana
- Updates from The Associated Press on the 435 House seats up for grabs
- An ongoing "blog" summarizing American Family Radio's on-air coverage
Election returns on these races and ballot initiatives will be available throughout the evening at AFN.net and on American Family Radio (listen live at AFR.net).
