Stuart Kellogg of Students in Action, the ministry that created the curriculum to help raise a new generation of pro-life leaders, recently told American Family Radio (AFR) it is not easy being pro-life today.
"States such as Alabama and Mississippi basically have outlawed abortion," he noted. "Unfortunately, the reality is thousands still go on because of the new chemical abortion. We actually have groups in New England sending abortion pills to red states particularly for that issue."
Meanwhile, though the Bible emphasizes the sanctity and value of human life even before birth, and even though abortion is "a political loser," Kellogg relayed that two out of three Americans and nearly half of Christians believe abortion should be legal at some point.
"We've gone from a pro-life/ pro-choice two-party choice to a pro-abortion/pro-choice two-party choice," he lamented. "The Republican Party is basically a pro-choice party."
His said that does not change anything about the need to keep babies and their mothers from abortion.
This project examines abortion history and reveals the evolution of the pro-life movement and the ongoing efforts in defending the pro-life position. In the curriculum, Students in Action gets into worldview and the truth about abortion and when life begins.
"This is meant to be taught alongside or with a pregnancy resource center," Kellogg noted. "It's set up both for either a church or for Christian schools."
One pastor, Dr. Eric Hankins of First Fairhope in Alabama, says he has already seen how this study is strengthening teens and preparing them to better defend their pro-life faith in this increasingly pro-abortion culture.
