The annual event in Washington, D.C. is scheduled for Friday, January 23, and with this year's theme of "Life is a Gift," organizers invite all people to rediscover the beauty, goodness, and joy of life itself.
"Every January at the National March for Life, countless marchers from across the country and around the world unite in celebration of the gift of human life—radiating hope, unity, and a spirit that transcends politics," a statement reads on the March for Life website. "This is why our 2026 March for Life theme is Life is a Gift, emphasizing what lies at the heart of the pro-life movement—an unshakeable conviction that life is very good and worthy of protection, no matter the circumstances."
This year's rally will feature Sanctus Real and the Friends of Club 21 Choir. Performances will be followed with speeches from legislators and pro-life activists to encourage people to engage with others on the issue of abortion.
Carol Tobias, president of the National Right to Life Committee, tells AFN it is a great time for a call to action.
"We've got legislative sessions coming up, and I know many states are going to be trying to work to do even more to protect unborn children and to help their moms," she notes.
With a number of "great programs coming out" to encourage people to look again at the unborn child and recognize their humanity, Tobias says, "The pro-life movement never quits."
The March for Life is organized by March for Life Education and Defense Fund. It takes place in January to coincide with the Supreme Court's January 22, 1973, ruling in Roe vs. Wade.
The first march was held in January 1974, and although the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in June 2022, the annual pro-life event continues.
