One-month-old Wren suffered complications during birth and has required hospitalization ever since.
Kimberlyn Schwartz of Texas Right to Life explains there is a committee at that North Texas hospital that has the power to decide if the baby will live or die, even though her treatment is working.
“The ventilator is helping her, but the hospital has the ability to decide whether they think that the treatment is worth or that the patient is worth continuing to treat," says Schwartz.
The hospital committee will decide tomorrow (Wednesday) whether they will take her oscillator (a ventilator designed for infants) away, against the parents' wishes.
"They're ultimately deciding if her life is worth living," Schwartz summarizes. "That's not the job of the hospital committee; that is the discernment of the patient and family."
While no political officials have weighed in on Wren's story, Texas Right to Life is asking for prayers that the hospital will have a change of heart and continue providing the baby's life sustaining treatment until she is transferred to another hospital that will care for her.
That transfer would require a tracheostomy and feeding tube, necessary procedures the current hospital is reportedly unable to perform.

"We're praying for healing for baby Wren, and we're lifting up her family," Schwartz tells AFN. "It's hard enough having a loved one in a hospital, but imagine the hospital working against your wishes and threatening to end their life."
"We're really praying for the family to have peace and know the presence of the Lord during this time," the pro-lifer relays.
If the committee sides with the hospital, Wren will only have 25 days left to live, under the Texas 25-Day Rule.
