A longtime pro-life volunteer is encouraging men across the country to mentor and minister to fathers.

Dadhood founder Tony Trammell recently told American Family Radio that in 2001, when he encountered his first male clients at the local pregnancy resource center where he served as a board member, he began to feel a burden for the young men who are affected by unplanned pregnancies.

"The guys see a pregnancy center as pink; it's a place where girls go," Trammell relayed. "They see the ministry overall as pink. It's not really for them. My idea was to build dads in that pink building and make it a little less pink, a little more blue."

Dadhood’s mission, he noted, is to help pregnancy resource centers establish and equip men's ministries.

In 2014, after years of feeling like he was on an island, he attended a national conference and realized there were other "islands" throughout the country.

"Centers now are adding this as a real ministry [with] services specifically for young men," Trammell told show host Dr. Jessica Peck. "Now, there are 100 or more centers that offer real services for fathers."

He encouraged likeminded men to contact their local pregnancy centers and ask how they can serve there. Even maintenance, he said, is "just as important as working for the ministry."
