The consensus is that the nation's number-one provider of child terminations has made political gains because of its aggression and because of its spending.

Dan Steiner, who heads PreBorn!, says compared to other abortion-related groups, Planned Parenthood spends the most money on lobbying the federal government, certainly overshadows pro-life groups.

During the first half of 2023, Planned Parenthood reported spending about $714,000 on federal lobbying — a slight decline from this time last year, when the group spent about $740,000.

Federal lobbying spending slowed dramatically between the first and second quarters of this year, with Planned Parenthood reportedly spending about $510,000 during the first three months of 2023 — nearly triple the amount the group spent over the same period in 2022. In the second quarter of 2023, the group spent about $204,000 — a more than $300,000 decrease from the previous quarter and a nearly $366,000 decrease from second quarter spending in 2022.

The expenditures, Steiner says, are winning over the Democrats.

"The Democratic machine is in lockstep with Planned Parenthood, I think very afraid of Planned Parenthood," he submits. "They don't want to be labeled to be in any way anti-abortion, so they just roll over."

In contrast, the pro-life movement spends its money on saving the lives of preborn babies.

"The pro-life movement really does not have an answer to that in any significant way," Steiner admits. "Same thing with the elections — They outspend on their marketing for pro-death candidates 10 times what we do, and so it's small wonder … that we have so many governors and other offices that are populated by liberals."

In most recent months, the abortion giant has been lobbying for passage of the so-called Women's Health Protection Act, which, if passed, would overturn all state laws that protect pregnant women and preborn babies.

"They're probably one of the most powerful lobbies — right up there with the education lobbying effort and the union lobbying effort," the pro-lifer adds about Planned Parenthood.

Meanwhile, Hugh Brown of the American Life League points out that Planned Parenthood is also in partnership with the liberal American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU).

"It's to pass these ballot initiatives in states by scaring people and creating the illusion of what abortion is and working into essentially creating a culture that allows abortion on demand [and] the mutilation of children if they want to change their sex," he explains.

He calls the latter "insane," because no one can change his or her gender, just their appearance.

Nevertheless, the abortion giant enjoys an open invitation to the White House and to the offices of many members of Congress.

"They play shell games, and they fund politicians through different entities, through their arms that are not related to the C3 (Community Contribution Company) but somehow end up getting that money," the pro-lifer relays. "It is absolutely the government allowing the funding of its own liberal, leftist, demonic agenda."

Planned Parenthood receives more than $500 million every year in federal funding.
