Missouri pro-lifers raise concerns over ballot push

Missouri’s pro-life state legislators are busily passing numerous pro-life measures but the other side is pushing back, too, with a shadowy campaign.

During the current session, the Missouri legislature has passed more than 52 bills to protect the lives of unborn babies. Last week, however, abortion supporters filed 11 ballot measures to change the state constitution to allow abortion with no legal boundaries.

Susan Kline of Missouri Right to Life tells AFN the view of her pro-life group is Missourians should influence state laws, not out-of-state dollars. That concern comes from a newly-created political action committee with no ties to the state.

“So we are working in the legislature to address the issue of how our constitution is being taken away from us, from the citizens of Missouri,” she says. “And really looking at making sure that everybody in Missouri has a voice when it comes to changing our constitution.”

The newly-formed PAC is called Missourians for Constitutional Freedom.
