Church vandals need to repent for their crime, says pro-life priest

A priest whose Pittsburgh church was hit by vandals says he would like to talk to the culprits and urge them to seek forgiveness for harming a church.

Earlier this month, still-unknown vandals spray-painted a monument to aborted children and a pro-life billboard, both located near St. Rosalia Church. Kris Stubna, the church's priest, tells AFN he contacted police about the incident and they are now investigating it.

“They also graciously are going to try to get the monument cleaned by their anti-graffiti group,” Stubna says of the helpful law enforcement officers.

The priest says he is happy to discuss the abortion issue with the people who damaged the property but would also tell them vandalism is never acceptable.

Asked what he would tell the vandals if they admitted to the crime, Stubna says he hopes they would seek forgiveness but also take responsibility for the harmed they caused.

David Zubik, a Catholic bishop for Pittsburgh, told The Pittsburgh-Post Gazette the pro-life stance is about respecting every human being.

“Let us pray for more love and less hate,” he said.
