Thanks to the landmark Dobbs ruling in June, 14 states are protecting babies from abortions just six months after the U.S. Supreme Court decision that overturned Roe v Wade.
Steven Ertelt, who leads the Life News website, says eight more U.S. states are fighting for abortion bans in the courts where abortion supporters are suing to demand liberal laws.
“And we 're expecting actually a lot of good decisions next year,” he says of those court fights. “So that 14 number could become 22 real quick if a bunch of those states have bans that are upheld in court."
Beyond that, Ertelt is watching pro-life legislation advance in North Carolina, where legislators are expected to override a governor’s veto, and in red states Florida and Nebraska, too.
“2022 is ending up being a great year for unborn children,” he summarizes, “and I think we have a lot of good prospects for 2023."
