Gov. Phil Murphy (pictured above) is demanding that health insurance companies pay for abortion, even through all nine months of pregnancy, which comes after the state legislature failed to send him a bill to sign. So a state agency he oversees is making it happen anyway.
Marie Tasy of New Jersey Right to Life tells AFN legislators failed to pass such a bill because they recognize it’s unpopular with their constituents.
“So instead they added language in legislation,” she explains, “that allowed the Department of Banking and Insurance to perform a study about the impact that it would have if they mandated it.”
According to a LifeNews article, in a report, the state agency concluded abortion should be included in private health insurance plans because state law “preserves the right to terminate a pregnancy without government interference.”
Yet the state of New Jersey is literally interfering in private business and its mandate is set to go into effect January 1.
Tasy says 2023 is an election year for many seats in the state legislature.
“And they don't want to touch this with a 10-foot pole,” she alleges. “So [Governor Murphy] is now doing it by regulation.”
