A waste hauler has gotten a pass after violating New Mexico law – and making a pro-life state party to its business.

Pro-life sidewalk counselors in Albuquerque noticed on several occasions a truck arriving at the local Planned Parenthood and hauling away buckets of aborted babies. The abortuary terminates preborn children up to five months into the pregnancy. Tara Shaver of Abortion Free New Mexico investigated after photos of the truck were sent to her organization.

"There was no identifying information on the truck as to whether it was for biohazard waste or the company name or anything like that," she describes for AFN. "So, because we saw them coming and taking away the biohazard buckets in this [unmarked] truck … we filed a complaint with New Mexico authorities to ask who this company is and [if] they are even licensed in the state."

Shaver, Tara (Abortion Free New Mexico) Shaver

Shaver reports that, according to the investigation by the New Mexico Environment Department, the trucks are required to be marked and the company's state permit lapsed three years ago. In addition, the owner – Oncore Technology/BioCycle – was transporting the deceased babies for disposal at two sites it owns in Texas.

"Of course, that's very concerning because Texas is a pro-life state with no abortions. Abortions have been banned completely [there]," she adds. "[And while] we have found that that's a great thing, we have this problem that these aborted babies are making their way back into the state of Texas."

Shaver says her organization will be working with Texas lawmakers to ban the practice. And as far as operating illegally in New Mexico, the state punished the offender with "just a slap on the wrist," says the pro-life group.
