Pro-life activist on abortion: An evil act requires praying Church

A leading pro-life activist says abortion won't end because of politicians or judges because, at its core, a spiritual issue is being fought in our laws and courts.

For nearly a half century, pro-life organizations have taken an incremental approach to doing away with abortion, such as the ban on partial-birth abortions or those committed against a preborn baby if its heartbeat can be detected.

Hugh Brown of the American Life League says those steps have been helpful but they do nothing for the 63 million babies that have been killed in the womb.

“At the American Life League, we have exactly that position,” he says. “That statement was the singular reason that the Holy Spirit led Judie [Brown], and the founding group, to create the American Life League: that every life, every life, is sacred.”

Judie Brown is the founder of the organization.

Abortion, Hugh Brown says, is an evil act that must be stopped by spiritual warfare.

“It’s not going to be the Supreme Court. It's not going to be laws,” he insists. “While those things are certainly helpful, this is absolutely a spiritual battle.”
