Despite a low-key attack from the nation's largest abortion chain, a Democrat pro-life group isn't giving up.

With the annual March for Life coming up, Democrats for Life of America (DFLA) had signed a contract with Busboys and Poets, a local chain in D.C., to host its annual breakfast at the restaurant's K-street location. Jess Meeth, DFLA's communications director, says they received an email and a phone call.

"Their catering director mentioned to us that Planned Parenthood holds events there at the restaurant," Meeth reports. "For that reason, they didn't feel comfortable holding the venue for us, which just came at such a last minute, considering the March [for Life] is just Friday.

DFLA's money was refunded, but the pro-life organization has been left without a venue for their event. And with the cancellation being so last minute, many of the possible options are already under contract.

"We're not losing heart," asserts Meeth. "We're not going to let this discourage us. It inspires us. Even though we're really disappointed, we're not going to give up, and we're going to show that being pro-life and a Democrat are not oxymorons. It goes much bigger than just being shunned and shut out from a local restaurant."

Democrats for Life has calls out in the search of a restaurant that will host its upcoming breakfast, but there have been no responses so far.
