Democrats unwilling to protect babies at any age

When it comes to preborn babies, liberals in Congress are still playing politics rather than following science.

When the House Judiciary Committee was considering a budget this week, Democrats rejected every amendment proposed by Republicans. Carol Tobias of the National Right to Life Committee says one of the proposals was a measure to ban abortions at 20 weeks, as babies at that stage feel pain.

"That sounds like a no-brainer to me," Tobias submits. "If the baby is developed to that point, yes, we should be protecting them. And again, the Democrats on the committee voted it down. This was another case where every Republican voted for the amendment; every Democrat voted against."

As American Family News has reported, many scientists contend babies in the womb can feel pain much earlier than 20 weeks, perhaps as early as 12 weeks.

"This just shows once again that the leadership of the Democratic Party is so in the pocket of the abortion industry that they are unwilling to protect any baby at any age, even if they can feel pain," the pro-lifer laments.

She adds that 24 states have enacted laws to protect pain-capable unborn children. Six have been enjoined by the courts; 18 are in effect.
