VA encouraged to keep abortion out

A leader of a major pro-life organization understands the concern about the direction the Biden administration is nudging the VA on abortion.

Eric Scheidler of the Pro-Life Action League says the Biden administration is trying hard to advance the cause of abortion in the U.S. at the behest of major donors like Planned Parenthood, NARAL Pro-Choice America, and the American Civil Liberties Union.

"Concerned about this aggressive implementation of pro-abortion policy, Representative Matt Rosendale (R) of Montana and 130 Republicans in Congress have signed a letter to Veterans Affairs Secretary Denis McDonough demanding that the Veterans Affairs Administration not change their own rules and start to provide abortions when they provide medical care for veterans," Scheidler explains.

VA hospitals have already been under scrutiny for their own problems, such as diminished medical care and requiring veterans in some cases to wait over a month to see a doctor.

"The last thing they want to do is make it worse by adding abortion to the mix," the pro-lifer insists. "They have so many other things they need to focus on [like] really taking care of veterans who deserve to be cared for after their time of service. So let's keep abortion out of this."

He is pleased that Veterans Administration officials have made no change in policy so far, and he is supportive of the 130 members of Congress who are demanding that they refrain from doing so.
