Ellis warns of looming inner party conflict between MAGA and traditionalist Republicans

As midterm election projections flood in, political insiders are looking beyond election day to a major shift brewing inside the Republican Party.

Jenna Ellis, former campaign legal advisor for President Donald Trump, spoke on American Family Radio (AFR)’s “Today’s Issues” program, sharing projections from top data strategists, pointing to a potential split outcome in Congress.

“Some of the projections that I trust the most, for example, my good friend Brad Parscale, who was Trump’s 2020 campaign manager ... his electoral maps have been spot on for the last 20-plus elections. He thinks — and so this is the advice that I personally trust because nobody really knows what turnout will be — he thinks that Republicans will lose the House, tie in the Senate,” Ellis states.

Beyond the congressional math, Ellis warned that election day will spark an intense internal GOP feud — a battle between the party’s traditional establishment and the grassroots America First movement.

While the two factions have slightly different approaches to domestic and foreign policies, the main difference is that traditionalists favor old-school conservative principles while the other remains loyal to Trump and Make America Great Again (MAGA).

Those that align with the MAGA movement are Vice President JD Vance, House Speaker Mike Johnson and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz. Meanwhile, Senate Majority Leader John Thune, Senate Appropriations Committee Chair Susan Collins and Texas Sen. John Cornyn are more traditionally Republican.

“There is an absolute power struggle going on in Washington right now for control of the future of the GOP between MAGA, Inc. and the America First Trump followers versus the establishment Republicans ... that are just counting the days until he leaves office so that they can go ahead and regain control,” Ellis states.

Ellis urged Christian voters not to get caught up in political infighting, emphasizing that the focus should remain on promoting biblical values and holding whoever wins accountable to good governance.

Vance even came out in the Republican midterm convention and urged Republicans to vote even if they disagree with some policies to keep the Democrat candidate out of office.
