Fox News released a poll in the later half of September that revealed 55% of registered voters hold an unfavorable view of Democratic Socialists of America (DSA). And The Center Square also recently released a poll saying that 55% of American voters are concerned about DSA candidates winning political offices.
Fox even reported that Democratic Party leaders, such as House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-New York), are not on board with the agenda of the DSA. Despite that, one of their polls show that 52% of Democrats hold a favorable view of socialism.
While the DSA gained momentum in the Democrat Party, Fox said that American is still skeptical on the national scale. For example, Fox’s poll found that only 11% of Republicans held socialism in a positive light.
Other polls, such as a Gallup survey reported on by AFN, show that 43% of Americans view socialism favorably. While 66% of Democrats supported socialism, only 15% of Republicans supported it.
Rep. Chuck Fleischmann (R-Tennessee) is ringing the alarm, warning the “Washington Watch” program that socialist economic policies pose a direct threat to the American economy and the U.S. Constitution.
“Socialism is antithetical to democracy, to our great republic, which values not only political but economic freedom. The outrageous platforms that the Democratic Socialists not only espouse but advocate for, they are no longer hiding it,” Fleischmann states.
Pointing to the recent poll showing that a little over half of American voters are concerned about socialist candidates winning elected office, he warns that expanding these platforms could blow out the national deficit by trillions and undermine free enterprise across the country.
“Everywhere, not somewhere, everywhere that socialism has taken root across the world, it has failed. It has destroyed economic freedom. It has destroyed political freedom. It has destroyed republics,” Fleischmann warns.
He urges voters to reject the left’s platform at the ballot box, arguing that protecting the nation’s economic future requires keeping constitutional principles at the forefront.
