Republicans and Democrats condemn Ohio AG candidate for threatening Trump

An Ohio-based tea party activist says a Democrat candidate for Ohio Attorney General is a gift to Republicans because of an online posting he made of his plan to kill President Donald Trump.

Elliot Forhan is a former Ohio state representative, who wants to be the highest-ranking law enforcement officer in the Buckeye State. But Forhan, a Democrat, is facing a huge backlash after posting on Facebook his plan to "kill Donald Trump," reports Fox News.

Forhan, Elliot (Ohio Democrat) Forhan

"I mean I'm going to obtain a conviction rendered by a jury of his peers at a standard of proof beyond a reasonable doubt based on evidence presented at a trial conducted in accordance with the requirements of due process resulting in a sentence duly executed of capital punishment,” stated Forhan in the video. “That is what I mean when I say that I'm going to kill Donald Trump."

His statement was immediately condemned by Republicans on social media. Conservative commentator Dave Rubin referred to Forhan as “absolutely psychopath” while Libs of TikTok called him an “evil deranged psycho.”

“The high of impeachment declarations and jail just don’t give them the same high anymore. Now we have Democrats running on killing the President,” posted Robby Starbuck, another conservative commentator.

Even Democrats have condemned Forhan's comment. Dr. Amy Acton, who is a Democrat running for governor of Ohio, condemned Forhan’s statement as well, saying that that threats of political violence have no place in their politics.

Zawistowski, Tom (We the People Convention) Zawistowski

Tom Zawistowski is the president of the We the People Convention and the Ohio Citizens PAC.

"He's a lunatic. He does have a primary on May 4th, and he'll probably win because the lunatic friends will come out and vote for him. And we want them to,” states Zawistowski.

He says that they hope Forhan wins the primary so that he will be on the ballot this upcoming November. He claims that this addition to the ballot will bring out all the Trump voters, Republican voters, and conservatives.

“So, this guy is a gift to us. We're really excited that he was stupid enough to make that statement. We'll see if he wins his primary, but I think it's probably likely," states Zawistowski.
