Talking about Crockett on American Family Radio (AFR) Tuesday, Tony Ortiz, publisher of Current Revolt, dismissed Crockett's chances of winning.
"There's no way Texas is going to see any Senator Jasmine Crockett," said Ortiz. "It's just not going to happen."
Ortiz described Crockett's campaign as "a popularity run" to get attention or bring in people to vote for down ballot Democrat candidates.
Ortiz told show host Jenna Ellis that state Rep. James Talarico (D-Texas) has a better chance of winning the Democratic primary.
"He did Joe Rogan's podcast. He’s well received by Democrats, Texas Democrats across the state, whereas Jasmine Crocket is mostly popular in her district," said Ortiz. "She's been largely ineffective in her current role; I don't see how her running for a bigger role makes any sense."
The Republican primary currently features three candidates: Senator John Cornyn (R-Texas), Attorney General Ken Paxton (R-Texas), and Representative Wesley Hunt (R-Texas).
"Cornyn's supporters make the argument that Paxton is unelectable, that he's going to struggle because of his affair scandals and things like that, but Ken Paxton has made the argument that Cornyn has been ineffective, that he's anti-Trump and that he's kind of a moderate.”
Then there’s the lesser known candidate who star may be rising.
“Wesley Hunt has come in and said 'both of these guys aren't that great, and I'm the choice for you,'" said Ortiz. "What's interesting though is that recent polling has shown that Wesley Hunt is growing, his support is really growing across the state, and in a recent poll I believe it showed that Hunt was beating both Cornyn and Paxton in a one-on-one."
